The department wishes to continue an annual line televising program to <br />I ascertain the condition of the City's sanitary sewer lines. <br /> d. Updates required from the City Engineer to evaluate costs of repairing <br />I most critical areas from results of 1997 sewer line televising. <br /> With recent heavy rainfalls and resulting ponding, staff has been refocused <br /> e. <br />I . on accelerating pace of ditch cleaning for the surface water management <br /> system, Is this a valid utility trade off of expenses once 509 projects are <br /> completed? <br />. f. The completion of a new City Hall will result in increased operating <br /> expenditures. Suggestion has been made to create a separate department <br />I to accurately capture cost characteristics of the new facility. <br />I g. The 1997 experiment of hiring temporary public works maintenance <br /> employees has been positive, but staff still wishes to pursue other <br /> outsourcing options including meter reading and lift station maintenance <br />. to reduce costs and/or increase productivity. <br /> 3. Parks <br />I a. Given levy limits and other budgetary pressures, does the Council wish to <br /> continue the $16,300 level of General Fund operating transfer support to <br /> subsidize the Fund 226 recreation program catalog? For comparative <br />I purposes, the 1997 budget included $10,700 for ten issues of the City <br /> Newsletter (Mayor & Council Department) and $19,325 for four issues of <br /> the recreation catalog, <br />I <br />.e <br />I <br />
