May 13
5:30 p.m. Wold Architects and Engineers
I 6:20 p.m. Architectural Alliance
7:10 p.m. BWBR Architects
I Selection Process
There are several considerations Council will want to weigh in making a decision regarding the
. selection of an architectural fIrm. Useful factors for Council to consider while interviewing
architectural firms include; size of the firm, experience of the firm, their experience with similar
. projects, their ability to articulate working within budget/time schedules, their management
ability, their understanding of building codes/ADA requirementslIocal zoning regulations, and
the cost of services.
. In making a fInal determination, Council will generally want to consider a firm's ability to
deliver a high quality design, technical competence, experience, cost and general impression of
I their organization. Council should carefully consider who appears to be willing to be responsive
to our needs, listens carefully, understands the City - or at least is willing to ask the right
questions - and in general, Council/staff will want to feel comfortable in working with the firm.
. Attached is a list of questions the City Council may find useful in evaluating the fIrms. The
f' interviews are set up for a 20 minute presentation and a 20 minute question/answer period.
I
--
