<br /> 2/~ '. <br /> CITY OF ARDEN HILLS' COMPREHENSIVE PLAN UPDATE . <br /> Comprehensive Planning Services - Request for Proposals .. <br /> REOUEST FOR PROPOSALS <br /> The City of Arden Hills is soliciting proposals for updating its Comprehensive Plan to a select . <br /> number of Planning firms in the Twin Cities. The update that is being proposed is being done <br /> pursuant to the requirements of Milmesota State Statute, Chapter 473.864, Subdivision 2. The <br /> existing Comprehensive Plan for the City of Arden Hills was adopted in June of 1982. The City . <br /> of Arden Hills is proposing to update its Comprehensive Plan so that it corresponds to present <br /> planning practices, meets the applicable guidelines of the Metropolitan Council, and meets the <br /> overall planning objectives of the City of Arden Hills. . <br /> Given, the age of the existing document, all required elements of the Comprehensive Plan will <br /> need to be evaluated. Also, incorporation of the Arden Hills Task Force and the Twin Cities . <br /> ArnlY Ammunition Plant (TCAAP) Re-Utilization Committee's recommendations for the re-use <br /> of TCAAP will need to be incorporated into the document. . <br /> GENERAL CITY INFORMATION <br /> The City of Arden Hills is a second ring suburb and is located in the northern sector of the Twin . <br /> Cities Metropolitan Area. Arden Hills encompasses approximately 9.4 square miles entirely <br /> within Ramsey County. The City of Arden Hills is approximately 10 miles north of the <br /> downtowns of Saint Paul and Minneapolis and 13 miles north of the Minneapolis-Saint Paul ~ <br /> International Airport. The current population of Arden Hills is estimated to be 9,678 persons <br /> (Metropolitan Council estimate, April of 1996). The Northerly 2,370 acres of the City is <br /> TCAAP. The City of Arden Hills, but for TCAAP, is approximately 95 percent fully developed. I <br /> The City of Arden Hills is entirely within the existing Metropolitan Urban Service Area <br /> (MUSA). <br /> The City of Arden Hills has been considered a "village of homes" but it also has been successful . <br /> in its efforts to attract desirable business and industry. The City of Arden Hills is the corporate <br /> home for such companies as: Cardiac Pacemakers; Mutual Service Insurance; Land 0' Lakes; I <br /> Control Data; lIB.
