Comprehensive Plan, Request for Proposals (RFP's) <br /> I Mr. Ringwald stated Staff is requesting City Council authorization for a Request for Proposals <br /> for updating the City's Comprehensive Plan to a short list of planning firms in the Twin Cities <br /> I (approximately 9), Mr. Ringwald advised the Council that Staff had received notification earlier <br /> that day that the City of Arden Hills has been awarded a grant of approximately $8,300 from the <br /> Metropolitan Council to aid in updating the City's Comprehensive Plan, <br /> I Mr. Ringwald requested that Council review the dateline in the attached memo to see if these <br /> dates would work with their schedules. <br /> I Mayor Probst inquired ifMr. Ringwald needed a commitment to these dates at tonight's meeting. <br /> Mr. Ringwald stated he would, if the Request for Proposals is approved. <br /> I Councilmember Malone inquired if a large response is expected, Mr. Ringwald replied he <br /> -- expects replies from most of the firms sent a Request for Proposals. <br /> I , (- <br /> MOTION: Malone moved and Aplikowski seconded a motion to authorize Staff to prepare ( <br /> the Request for Proposals and that the RFP's be distributed to the planning firms <br /> Ie identified, The motion carried unanimously (5-0). <br /> C. Award Contract for South Water Tower Maintenance and Repairs <br /> I Dwayne Stafford, Public Works Superintendent, stated engineers reviewed the South Water <br /> I Tower and estimated the necessary repairs at approximately $25,000. Proposals for this work <br /> have now been received, and Staff wishes to award the bid to Odlund Protective Coatings for <br /> $20,450, This company also did repairs for the North Water Tower, and they are able to begin <br /> I work this fall. <br /> MOTION: Malone moved and Keim seconded a motion to award the bid for repairs to the <br /> I South Water Tower to Odlund Protective Coatings in the amount of $20,450, with <br /> the work to be completed by October I, 1997. The motion carried unanimously <br /> (5-0). <br /> I ADMINISTRATOR COMMENTS <br /> I Mr. Fritsinger stated he wished to comment on the absence of Gateway Business District items <br /> on the agenda, as these items were expected to consume a large portion of tonight's meeting. <br /> I Mr. Fritsinger stated bids for the work on 14th Street have been received, and the City can move <br /> forward once the final purchase agreements from Welsh are signed.
