Walsh, Parks and Recreation Director ~ <br /> SUBJECT: Resolution 97-45 Authorizing Sub-Grant Agreement <br /> I Authorization to accept federal assistance <br /> I The resolution is necessary in the process of accepting money from the federal government. By <br /> passing the resolution, the City is authorizing City Administrator, Brian Fritsinger, to sign the <br /> sub-grant agreement that releases the reimbursable money. The Federal Assistance we will <br /> I receive is actually a State of Minnesota Program that is Federally funded. <br /> Anticipated Reimbursement <br /> I I have attended meetings and met with State and Federal FEMA (Federal Emergency <br /> Management Agency) representatives during the last month. The damage and clean up in the <br /> City is divided into three categories; damage to public property, debris removal, and protective <br /> Ie measures. The following lists the reimbursement we will receive for each of the areas. <br /> Cate~ories Reimbursement <br /> I Damage to public property $4,284 <br /> Cummings Park Wash-out <br /> I Debris removal $0 (We did not meet the $1,000 minimum) <br /> A. Tree branch removal, clean up, and chipping <br /> I B. Street Sweeping <br /> Protective measures $1567 <br /> I Lift station repair and over time pay <br /> I informed the state and federal inspector that I did not agree with the reimbursement for <br /> I Cummings Park. The inspector informed me that they reimburse only to the level of what <br /> existed previously. I explained that the slope needs to be reconstructed correctly to prevent <br /> I further failure, especially when the snow thaws next spring. There will be another inspector <br /> assigned to review the area and make a determination. I will keep the Council informed if we are <br /> fortunate enough to receive additional funding. <br /> I Recommendation <br /> I recommend the adoption of Resolution #97-45 authorizing the City Administrator to execute <br /> .. and sign sub-grant agreements as necessary on behalf of the City of Arden Hills. <br /> I - . <br />
