Senator Linda Runbeck flL I
Re: Public funding for Twins Stadium
I
Since the inception of the discussion about possible state funding for a new Twins Stadium, I
I have been in the opposition camp. Of course, like many, I would like to keep the Twins
here, but not expending public dollars.
In considering vehicles which might turn up the volume of opposition on this subject, I eI
have developed a model resolution which I am hopeful you will consider taking up at an
upcoming City Council meeting. I
Why the City Councils? I believe it is in keeping with the role of municipalities to urge
particular courses of action upon the State Legislature. And, since both local and state I
elected officials bear joint responsibility for taxpayer spending, this is a topic on which we
can unite our voices.
Please call me if you have any questions.
