PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> 1997 COMMISSION REVIEWIl998 COMMISSION PLANS <br /> Mission: <br />I Dedicated to serving the people of Arden Hills by providing a comprehensive, well- <br /> maintained system of parks, trails, facilities and open spaces, and a balanced, well- <br /> organized program of affordable recreational activities. <br />I Goals: <br /> a. To encourage and solicit donations for the Park Fund when appropriate. <br />I b. To update, or periodically review the TCAAP Park Plan, if there is a change in the <br /> status of the land. <br /> c. To coordinate the Trail Plan with the Street Pavement Management Plan, <br />I whenever possible, and to recommend the upcoming trail priority segments to the <br /> Council. <br />I d. To find space within the City for soccer fields. <br /> e. To jointly work with Ramsey County on the redevelopment of Tony Schmidt <br /> Park. <br />I Current Members: <br /> Council Liaison <br />Ie Lynette Kreidler, Chair Susan Keim <br /> Dorothy McClung <br /> Mary Robinson Staff Liaison <br />I Louis Speggen Cindy Walsh <br /> Megan Ricke Tracy Petersen <br /> Anita Larson <br />I Don Messerly Meeting Schedule <br /> Jim Johnson Fourth Tuesday (or Weds.) @ 7:00 p.m., ARC <br />I 1997 Accomplishments: <br /> a. No major Park Fund donations, but no new development push for funds either. <br />I b. Had a number of TCAAP discussions and provided input into City needs/wants. <br /> The list will be updated/changed and provided to the Facility Needs Study. <br /> c. Prioritized trail segments (see attached minutes) <br />I d. They want to consider Ingerson for a possible soccer field; TCAAP is the only <br /> other possibility they've discussed. <br /> e. They pushed the County for the Task Force, and will host a resident meeting to <br />I give input into the Master Plan. They have representation on the Task Force. <br /> f. Park Tours. <br /> g.
