ST A TE OF MINNESOTA <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> I CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br /> I RESOLUTION NO. 97-58 <br /> A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE CITY OF ARDEN HILLS TAKING THE <br /> I LEAD ROLE IN DEVELOPING A CONCEPT PLAN FOR A MULTI-CITY <br /> ATHLETIC F ACIUTY ON THE TCAAP PROPERTY <br /> I WHEREAS, the Cities of Arden Hills, Mounds View, New Brighton, Shoreview, and the <br /> Mounds View School District have worked with the area youth associations to put together an <br /> Athletic Facility Needs Study; and <br /> I WHEREAS, the Facility Needs Study identifies the lack of current athletic facilities in the four <br /> (4) cities and for school district activities; and <br /> I WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Directors and City Administrators from the four (4) <br /> Cities met with the District #621 Superintendent, Community Ed Director, and School Board <br /> I Chair to discuss the need for athletic facilities; and <br /> Ie WHEREAS, the only areas ofland which have been identified that are large enough to construct <br /> facility to address all of the needs identified are the U of M property in Shoreview and the <br /> TCAAP property in Arden Hills; and <br /> I WHEREAS, if was the consensus of representatives from each of the agencies identified above <br /> that the TCAAP property was the best place to put ajoint facility; and <br /> I WHEREAS, the reutilization plan completed by the Vento Committee identifies an area of <br /> TCAAP for such joint park facilities; and <br /> I WHEREAS, since TCAAP is located in Arden Hills, all parties agree that the City of Arden <br /> Hills would be the most appropriate agency to take the lead in developing concept plans; and <br /> I WHEREAS, the other cities have indicated that they would reimburse Arden Hills for any <br /> I consultant fees incurred as a result of the completion of the plan; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Cities have met with the local youth associations to seek additional <br /> I reimbursement from their organizations; and <br /> WHEREAS, the cost to complete the concept plans would not exceed a maximum of$lO,OOO. <br /> I <br /> ~ <br /> I <br />
