1
John Ross, 4029 Fairview Avenue .
Q. Is the $25 to $39 per foot based on benefit to owner?
A. Mr. Post stated no. The $25.00 figure was last year's assessment for street reclamation -.
where curbing already existed and the street was only reconstructed between the curbs.
The $39 figure was for total reconstruction, which included all new curbing. Mr. Post
further eXplained that regardless of the street rebuild specifications all reconstruction
assessments will be at the same rate per foot. In general, lots with more frontage 1
typically pay more.
Amy Treise, 2012 Stowe Avenue I
Ms. Treise stated nothing has been done (maintenance or improvements on Stowe Avenue for
many years). Why is this? I
A. Mr. Post stated this had been a county road ranking very low on their maintenance
priority list. When turned back to the City's of Arden Hills and New Brighton it will be
reconstructed to MSAS standards. 1
Shirley Vennerstrom, 1901 Edgewater Avenue
Q. What about access during construction? 1
A. Mr. Stafford stated access should be available during evenings and weekends and most of
the time during construction, except when digging in front of their driveway or about
three (3) days when the driveway curb and apron are poured. 1
Alan Howard, 4057 Fairview Avenue (new resident)
Q. When was County Road F done? ~
A. Mr. Stafford stated 1995.
With no more questions asked the meeting ended about 8:40 p.m. .
Attached are written comments from residents attending the meeting. .
Also note that:
Bob Rehkamp, 4060 Valentine Avenue called Mr. Stafford and said he was unable to attend the I
meeting, but would like to state that Valentine Court is not a heavily traveled road and the costs
of reconstruction do not justify the benefits. There is no room for school busses or trucks to tum
around on the cul-de-sac, there by restricting traffic to smaller vehicles. Mr. Rehkamp opposes I
total reconstruction.
Paul Motley, 1919 Edgewater Avenue called with questions conceming costs, street width, any 1
grade changes, and terms for payment. Mr. Stafford gave Mr. Motley last years costs to be used
only as an estimate. Mr. Stafford told Mr. Motley the street width will probably match the new
portion of Edgewater West. Grade changes will be minimal and only to promote better drainage I
if needed. Terms were also explained.
Clark Poelzer, 1870 Indian Place called Mr. Brown and stated he is not in favor of I
reconstructing the cul-de-sac.
Larry Erickson, 1860 Indian Place called Mr. Brown and he stated he is not in favor of ..
reconstructing the cul-de-sac, but may support an overlay.
I
