f - --- .
I
,. 18 November 1997
,
PLEASE DELIVER TO: DWAINE STAFFORD
City of Arden Hills Fax #633-7839
From:
Bob Kunze
4073 Valentine Ct
Arden Hills MN 55112
Hello Dwaine,
I realized after I left the meeting last night I should have put my comments in writing
regarding the proposed street rebuilding of Valentine Court in 1998.
The street now measures about 24 to 24.5 feet to the outside of the curb. The "standard"
street proposed is 32 feet (or about 33 feet to the outside of the curb). There are many
- mature trees that would be in the way, or be likely to be killed even if the street were
reconstructed the same width as it is now. If it were widened, many more trees and part
of one hillside would have to go. It really seems a shame to kill the trees to make a street
Ie that will create more runoff. From an environmental standpoint it, seems like moving the
wrong way.
Also, when Valentine A venue is reconstructed, the neighborhood is interested in trying to
I incorporate some traffic calming that would include the intersection of Valentine Avenue
and Valentine Court. As long as the intersection is now in reasonable condition, it might
" make sense to not do anything with the last 50 feet or so of the court until that the time
- the A venue is redone.
i Sincerely,
I
1JJ; ~
- Robert Kunze
I
;
I
I
..
I
l'd I:OSf1 NW TltId lS IN I ~3l'*O sr~ wt:ISS: n L.6, 8, fION
