<br />.- .. <br />I CITY OF ARDEN HILLS FILE <br />. <br /> MEMORANDUM <br />I DATE: December 15, 1997 <br /> TO: Mayor and City Council <br />I FROM: Kevin Ringwald, Community Development Directo~ <br />I SUBJECT: Resolution #97-56A, Continued Participation in the Livable <br /> Communities Program <br />I Reauest <br /> The Staffis requesting City Council approve Resolution #97-56A, which includes the housing <br />I goals for the City as part of the resolution originally adopted by the City Council on November <br /> 10, 1997 (Exhibit A). <br />I Background <br /> The resolution that previously adopted by the City did not include the housing goals for the City. <br /> The Metropolitan Council has requested that the City's resolution be amended to include the <br />~ negotiated goals for the City. The negotiated housing goals for the City of Arden Hills are as <br /> follows: <br /> Housing Component Goal <br /> Affordability - Ownership 65 percent <br />I Affordability . Rental 35 percent <br />I Life-Cycle - Type (non-single family detached) 27 to 36 percent <br /> Life-Cycle - OwnerlRenter mix 75 to 83/17 to 25 percent <br />I Density - Single family detached 1.8 to 2.3 units/acre <br /> Density - Multifamily 9 to 12 units/acre <br /> - <br />I <br /> Recommendation <br />I The Staff recommends that the City Council adopt Resolution #97-56A, adding the City's <br /> housing goals to the previously approved resolution. <br />I , <br />III <br /> \ <br />I. \ <br /> , <br /> \ <br /> \ <br />-..... <br />
