<br />. <br /> <br />~ <br />~~HILLS <br /> <br />CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 05-62 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING THE CITY OF ARDEN HILLS PARTICIPATION <br />IN THE RAMSEY COUNTY ALL-HAZARD MITIGATION PLAN <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the County of Ramsey Division of Emergency Managemcnt and <br />Homeland Security has participated in the all-hazard mitigation planning process as <br />established under the Disaster Mitigation Act of2000, Pub. L. No. 106-390; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Act rcquires all counties and municipalities to develop, adopt <br />and maintain all-hazard mitigation plans either independently or on a countywide, multi- <br />jurisdictional basis; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, snch plans must be well integrated and coordinated to account for <br />. the fact that hazards in one jurisdiction impact on othcr nearby jurisdictions; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Act establishes a framework for the development of an all- <br />hazard mitigation plan; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Act as part of the planning process requires public involvement <br />and local coordination among neighboring local units of government and businesses; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the plan must include a mitigation strategy including priorities, <br />goals and strategies and an action plan identifying specific mitigation projects and <br />timeframcs; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the plan must include an implementation and maintenance process <br />including plan updates, integration of the plan into other planning documents and how the <br />County will maintain public participation and coordination; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Ramsey County Division of Emergency Management and <br />Homeland Sccurity has indicated its willingness to coordinate these efforts should the <br />municipality so desire; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the plan will be shared with all municipalities, the County Board of <br />Commissioners and the State of Minnesota Department of Public Safety, Division of <br />. Homeland Security and Emergency Management for coordination; and <br />
