Public Works Director / City Engineer <br />SUBJECT: 2026 PMP Winter tree clearing contract <br />Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source: <br />$3,300,000 (2026 PMP budget) $12,400 PIR <br />Council Should Consider <br />Motions to approve, table, or deny the following: <br />• Contract for 2026 PMP Winter Tree Clearing with Castle Rock Contracting & Tree <br />Service, LLC in the amount of $12,400. <br />Background/Discussion <br />On January 12, 2026, the City Council approved PSA Amendment No. 1 with Bolton & Menk. <br />The scope of work included an amount for the preparation/issuance of a quote package for early <br />tree clearing operations related to the 2026 PMP Street & Utility Improvements Project. <br />Since then, six contractors were requested for quotes to perform the necessary tree clearing, two <br />quotes were received: <br />BIDDERS <br />TOTAL AMOUNT BID <br />Castle Rock Contracting & Tree Service, LLC <br />$12,400.00 <br />1 <br />Precision Landscape and Tree, Inc. <br />$46,487.00 <br />2 <br />City staff recommends the City Council approve the contract with Castle Rock Contracting, LLC <br />in the amount of $12,400 as seen in Attachment A. <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
