<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />~ <br />~~HILLS <br /> <br />CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 04-53 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION TO PARTICPATE IN THE HAZARD MITIGATION PLANNING <br />PROCESS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the County of Ramsey Division of Emergency Management and <br />Homeland Security is participating in the all-hazard mitigation planning process as <br />established under the Disaster Mitigation Act of2000, Pub. L. No. 106-390; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Act requires all counties and municipalities to develop and maintain <br />all hazard mitigation plans either independently or on a county-wide, multi jurisdictional <br />basis; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, such plans must be well integrated and coordinated to account for the <br />fact that hazards in one jurisdiction impact on other nearby jurisdictions; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Act establishes a framework for the development of an all hazard <br />mitigation plan; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Act as part of the planning process requires public involvement and <br />local coordination among neighboring local units of governments and businesses; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the plan must include an implementation and maintenance process <br />including plan updates, integration of the plan into other planning documents and how the <br />County will maintain public participation and coordination; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Ramsey County Division of emergency Management and Homeland <br />Security has indicated its willingness to coordinate these efforts should the municipality so <br />desire; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the draft plan will be shared with all municipalities, the County Board <br />of Commissioners and the State of Minnesota Department of Public Safety, Division of <br />Homeland Security and Emergency Management for coordination of state agency review and <br />comment on the draft; and <br /> <br />\\Earth\AdminICouncil\Resolutions\2004\04-53, Approving a Hazard Mitigation Planning Process.doc <br />
