<br /> Arden Hills Parks, Trails and Recreation Committee Meeting Minutes <br /> December 16, 2003 <br /> Page 3 on <br /> . <br /> . The City has denied acceptance of the ADA work at Perry Park. He explained that <br /> the blacktop is not up to specifications noting that it would be completed in spring <br /> 2004. He noted that funds have been held until the work is satisfactorily completed. <br /> . Soil borings and samples have been taken for the new warming house facility at Perry <br /> Park. He stated that tile results would be available in January 2004. <br /> . Started flooding the ice rinks. He stated that they plan to be open Saturday, <br /> December 20,2003. <br /> . Noted that there would be an ice trail at Valentine Park. <br /> . He stated that the Mayor's son, along with two other parents, plan to flood the Indian <br /> Oaks Court pond for use as a neighborhood ice rink. He noted that Indian Oaks Court <br /> had been a City maintained ice rink at one time stating that the neighborhood plans to <br /> shovel and maintain the pond, throughout the season, for use as a neighborhood ice <br /> rink. <br /> . Stated that he has received several calls for Eagle Scout projects that include <br /> plantings, gardens and buckthorn removal. He reviewed the projects with the <br /> Committee. <br /> . Continue to maintain and plow the trails throughout the City. Stated that the <br /> Residents have been very complimentary noting that they have done a great job in <br /> maintaining the trails. <br /> . Stated that he has received several calls regarding the possibility of a cross-country <br /> . ski track. He stated that prescntly they are not sure where they would place a trail like <br /> this or how it would be maintained. <br /> . Referenced the Celebrating Arden Hills event noting that there would be some <br /> changes in the process. He stated that the concept would remain the same as last year <br /> noting that it would include a food tent, music by the White Sidewalls and a fireworks <br /> display. He stated that City Staff would manage the event noting that they would also <br /> be asking Residents to contribute to the process. He stated that he and Ms. Olson <br /> would co-chair the event and that they would provide the Committee with monthly <br /> updates. <br /> . A Feasibility Study for County Road E will be officially ordered by the City Council <br /> on the January 12, 2004 Consent Agenda. He stated that this would include gathering <br /> the cost factors for the trail and bridgework and reviewed with the Committee. <br /> . He explained that they originally thought they would have to widen the bridge and <br /> cantilever noting that they found that the bridge itself is significantly wider than both <br /> roads that approach the bridge at each end. He explained that the bridge deck would <br /> not have to be changed adding that they are going to build a sidewalk out into the <br /> roadway area that would match up with County Road E. He stated that the sidewalks <br /> would also include newly installed ADA handrails and reviewed with the Committee. <br /> . He stated that they plan to hold a neighborhood meeting that would include the <br /> Lindey's Triangle and County Road E residents. He stated that they would have to <br /> take portions of some of the properties in that area and encouraged PTRC Committee <br /> . Members to attend this meeting. <br />
