Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br /> EDC AGENDA ITEM –3C <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />DATE: November 5, 2025 <br /> <br />TO: Economic Development Commission Chair and Commissioners <br /> <br />FROM: Elena Fransen, AICP, Senior Planner <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Economic Development Commission Work Plan <br /> <br />Requested Action <br /> <br />Discuss work plan ideas for 2026 and 2027. <br /> <br />Background <br /> <br />Following the June 25, 2025 EDC meeting, staff drafted a work plan outline to reflect the current <br />direction of the EDC. Goals include: <br /> <br />- Business outreach support <br />- Communications and marketing <br />- Partnerships <br /> <br />The EDC started the review of the document during the August 27 meeting. Staff is bringing this <br />item back following the EDC business event in October and following the update from the Council <br />Liaison that the Council would like for the EDC to establish a work plan and identified an <br />opportunity for increased business participation. <br /> <br />Discussion <br /> <br />Discuss outcomes from the business event as they relate to the EDC’s next steps <br /> <br />Discuss goals for 2026 and 2027 years <br /> <br />Discuss previously considered strategies <br />- Business events <br />- Surveys <br />- Newsletter features <br />- Business webpage on the City website <br />- Partnerships with other business organizations <br />
