ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL—MARCH 9, 2026 20 <br /> retention facility in Arden Hills but does have a facility in place for processing and holding an <br /> individual for a short period of time. <br /> Councilmember Holden supported the moratorium being put in place and that staff work to study <br /> this topic quickly in order for the Council to put an ordinance in place as quickly as possible. <br /> Mayor Grant reported he read ICE has $38 million to spend on facilities and he was aware of the <br /> facilities that have already been purchased across the United States. He understood ICE was <br /> approved through the Big Beautiful Bill and noted it was important for the City Council to take this <br /> pp l� g <br /> action in order to keep detention facilities out of Arden Hills. <br /> The motion carried (5-0). <br /> MOTION: Mayor Grant moved and Councilmember Holden seconded a motion to provide <br /> staff Authorization for Summary Publication of Interim Ordinance 2026-003. <br /> The motion carried (5-0). <br /> D.
