75 Years <br /> CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 2026-021 <br /> RESOLUTION ADOPTING FAIR HOUSING POLICY STATEMENT <br /> WHEREAS, one of the core values of the City of Arden Hills is to ensure the health, <br /> safety, and well-being of all who live, work, and play in the City; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Arden Hills is committed to being an inclusive, open, safe, and <br /> welcoming community; and <br /> WHEREAS,the federal Fair Housing Act of 1968 makes it illegal to consider race, color, <br /> religion, national origin, sex, disability, or family status in rental, sales, or lending decisions; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Minnesota Human Rights Law makes it illegal to discriminate based on <br /> creed, sexual or affectional orientation, gender identity, marital status or receipt of public <br /> assistance; <br /> WHEREAS, Fair housing mean fair housing for all. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Mayor and City Council that the <br /> following fair housing policy statement be adopted: <br /> 1. Commitment to Non-Discrimination. The City of Arden Hills affirms its commitment <br /> to non-discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender <br /> expression in all city policies, practices, and services, consistent with applicable state <br /> and local laws. <br /> 2. Commitment to Fair Housing. This statement affirms a commitment to further fair <br /> housing and to promote appropriate activities by private and public entities to provide <br /> and advocate for equal housing opportunities for all residents and prospective residents <br /> of the City of Arden Hills. <br /> 3. Commitment to Public Awareness and Education. The City of Arden Hills encourages <br /> and supports efforts to raise public awareness and promote understanding of Fair <br /> Housing.
