The Staff and the <br /> City Attorney have been working on the draft ordinances for these uses. The drafts for <br /> pawn and gun shops will be available for discussion with the Planning Commission at <br /> their January 7, 1997 meeting, Given, the recent court decision (Exhibit A) we are re- <br /> tooling the draft adult use ordinance (most adult use ordinances are very similar) to better <br /> position ourselves in light of this ruling~ It is hoped that the adult use ordinance will be <br />. available at that same Planning Commission meeting. <br /> 2. Comprchcnsive Plan update. The Staff has been providing information to the <br /> consultant and recently spent a morning driving them around the City orientating them to <br /> the community. The consultant is planning to be at the Town Hall meeting to interact <br /> with the residents and identify areas of concern with the current comprehensive plan, <br /> Also, the Staff and the consultant will be meeting with our neighboring communities in <br /> early January to discuss areas of mutual interest that can be incorporated into the plan <br /> (ie" trail connections, land uses at the comer of County Road D and Cleveland Avenue, <br /> etc,,), Lastly, the consultant and StatTwill be having a worksession with the Planning <br /> Commission (tentatively January 21st) to firm up the process for the update. <br /> Protective Inspections <br /> L Building Permits (December). The first commercial/industrial permit in December (# <br /> 5910) involved the finishing the first floor ($180,000) of Building E (Research and <br /> Development) at Cardiac Pacemakers, Inc" at 4100 Hamline Avenue, The second <br /> commercial/industrial permit in December (# 5911) involved the remodeling of the <br /> visitor center ($250,000) of Building A at CaTdiac Pacemakers, Inc" at 4100 Hamline <br /> Avenue, The third and final commercial/industrial permit in December (# 5913) involved <br /> the interior Temodeling of a suite ($41,000) of the 3900 Northwoods Office building, <br /> In December, the City issued seven residential remodeling-permits which ranged in value <br />. from $650,00 to $76,000.00 and had a total value of $175,351.00 and had an average <br /> value of$25,050,14, <br />
