MEMORANDUM <br /> DATE: March 25,1998 <br /> TO: Brian Fritsinger, City Administrator <br /> FROM: Dwayne Stafford, Public Works Director V; <br /> SUBJECT: No Parking on Municipal State Aid Streets <br /> Back~rollnd <br /> The City of Arden Hills assumed jurisdiction over Stowe Avenue between New Brighton Road <br /> and Lake Johalll1a Boulevard in 1995, as part of the Ramsey County Tumback Program. <br /> The City of Arden Hills will also assume jurisdiction over the Arden Hills side (south side) of <br /> Stowe Avenue between Cleveland Avenue and New Brighton Road this year, as part of the <br /> Tumback Program. <br /> The segment from Cleveland Avenue to New Brighton Road will be reconstructed this year to a <br /> width of thirty two feet. The segment of Stowe Avenue between New Brighton Road and Lake <br />. Johalll1a Boulevard was reconstructed to a thirty two foot width in 1995. <br /> Minnesota State Aid (MSA) Requirements <br /> The City of Arden Hills will be designating all of Stowe Avenue within Arden Hills as an MSA <br /> route, to become eligible for MSA funding. Staff anticipates this street will be eligible for <br /> funding; however, parking restrictions will be needed, as the roadway is less than the minimum <br /> required width to provide for on street parking under MSA guidelines. <br /> Recommendation <br /> The City of Arden Hills Public Works Director recommends the City Council approve <br /> Resolution #98-38 Designating "No Parking" Restrictions along Municipal State Aid Streets. <br /> DS\jt <br />. <br />
