MEMORANDUM <br /> DATE: September 9, 1998 <br /> TO: Brian Fritsinger, City Administrator <br /> FROM: Dwayne Stafford, Public Works Director V~ . <br /> SUBJECT: Round Lake Road Street Improvement Project <br /> Request <br /> The City of Arden Hills Public Works Director asks that Council adopt Resolution #98-59 <br /> receiving the Preliminary Feasibility Report in the matter of improvements to a portion of West <br /> Round Lake Road including the West Round Lake RoadlHighway 96 intersection. <br /> Background <br /> At their August 10, 1998 meeting the City Council approved Resolution #98-52 authorizing the <br /> City Engineer (BRW) to prepare a Preliminary Feasibility Report and plans and specifications <br /> for the improvement of a portion of West Round Lake Road including the West Round Lake <br /> Road/Highway 96 intersection. This is the segment through what is now the lndykiewicz <br /> property. <br />. Council may recall this improvement is necessary due to road conditions and to fulfill the City's <br /> obligation to improve the roadway as part of the Gateway Development Agreement. <br /> Cns1s. <br /> Total estimated costs for this improvement which includes water main, sanitary sewer, storm <br /> sewer, trail, and temporary traffic signals are 5725,040.00. These costs do not include necessary <br /> property acquisition. Thc initial funding for the project will come from the proceeds of <br /> previously issued TIF bonds. Ramsey County has indicated that it will reimburse the City for the <br /> County's share of the improvement which is estimated to be $337,520.00. <br /> Should the Council receive the report the engineer is estimating completion of plans and <br /> specifications for Council review at its October 13, 1998 meeting. <br /> Recommendation <br /> The City of Arden Hills Public Works Director recommends that the City Council adopt <br /> Resolution #98-59 receiving the Preliminary Feasibility Report in the matter of improvements to <br /> a portion of West Round Lake Road and the West Round Lake Road/Highway 96 intersection. <br />. <br />
