MEMORANDUM <br /> DATE: September 28, 1998 <br /> TO: Mayor and City Council <br /> FROM: Brian Fritsinger, City Administrato~ <br /> SUBJECT: Selection of Audio Visual Design Consultant <br /> Background <br /> Staff recently solicited proposals for audio visual and acoustical consultation, design, and <br /> specification services for the proposed new City Hall. The City received two proposals to <br /> perform these services: <br /> . Jamieson and Associates, Inc, <br /> . Electronic Interiors, Inc, <br /> The purpose of this request for proposals (RFP) was to find a firm that can provide professional <br /> . design expertise for the development of the audio, video and electronics systems in the Council <br /> Chambers at City Hall. The firms would assist the City through initial needs, design development, <br /> plan preparation, implementation/installation and training, <br /> What is the Cost for This Service? <br /> The City had initially budgeted $125,000, including professional fees for the cable and audio <br /> visual systems, This fund currently has approximately $167,000 available for the new City Hall, <br /> Staff has arbitrarily selected a project cost of$120,000 to look at approximate fees for each firm, <br /> . Jamieson and Associates, Inc, fees are proposed as follows: <br /> Phase I $ 5,000 <br /> Phase 11 III 000 <br /> Total $23,000 <br /> . Electronic Interiors, Inc, fees are proposed as follows: <br /> Phase I $ 7,000 <br /> Phase I! I R 000 <br /> Total $25,000 <br /> The fee for Phase I was reduced from $9,000 to $7,000 by Electronic Interiors after the firm had <br /> an opportunity to further review the specific scope of the project <br /> . <br />
