Mr. Ringwald explained that this statement only exempts property owners . <br /> from sub-points one, two aod three of the Zoning Ordinance. <br /> Commissioner Sand asked if Staff is willing the accept the suggestion to reword subparagraph 5 <br /> (b) to read, "Are substandard in size as a result of the acquisition or condemnation by a <br /> governmental entity for public purpose..." Mr. Ringwald stated that this section will be reworded <br /> as suggested. Cornmissioner Saod suggested the sentence should be finished with "aod remain in <br /> separate ownership from adjacent lots on the date of such condemnation or acquisition." Mr, <br /> Ringwald concurred. <br /> Commissioner Sand moved, seconded by Commissioner Baker to recommend approval <br /> of Planning Case #98-31, City of Arden Hills, Zoning Code amendment based on the <br /> modified laoguage to Section V, K, 5, a, (5), (b) to read "Are substandard in size as a <br /> result of the acquisition or condenmation by a governmental entity for public purpose and <br /> remain in separate ownership from adjacent lots from the date of such acquisition or <br /> condenmation." The motion carried unanimously (6-0). <br /> This Planning Case will be reviewed at the Monday, December 14, 1998 City Council meeting. <br /> COUNCIL REPORT <br /> Councilmember Malone stated that the old City Hall is scheduled for demolition in <br /> approximately one and one-half weeks, . <br /> Councilmember Malone stated that the City Council approved the updated Comprehensive Plan. <br /> He noted the chaoges and suggestions by the Planning Commission were incorporated into the <br /> Plao. The City Council also agreed the TCAAP area should have a new name. <br /> Councilmember Malone stated that the City is once again participating in the Livable <br /> Communities Program, He explained that participation is maodated by the Metropolitao Council <br /> aod is ao attempt to set goals for housing pricing and availability. <br /> Councilmember Malone indicated that the Council is working on including the I-35W bridge <br /> reconstruction into Mn Dot's Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). <br /> Councilmember Malone stated that the City is still working on the improvement plans for West <br /> Round Lake Road. He explained that the City Engineer, BRW, presented a $1.9 million dollar <br /> plao to build the road with a median aod a $1.5 million dollar plan to build the road with two <br /> lanes with a turn laoe in the middle. Councilmember Malone indicated that this is more money <br /> thao the City has available for this project and, at the last City Council meeting, the Council had <br /> requested Staff to do more research aod develop other alternatives which visually eohance West <br /> Round Lake Road while remaining within the budget. <br /> Councilmember Malone stated that the City plans to rebuild the lift station at Lake Johanna. He . <br /> indicated that the City plans to rebuild one lift station per year to bring the purnp equipment to <br /> above ground to eliminate the current confined space entry situation. <br />
