CITY OF ARDEN IDLLS MEMORANDUM DATE: December 9, 1998 TO: May" ..d City COO.," ~ FROM: Brian Fritsinger, City Administrat SUBJECT: 1999 Animal Control Contract Request The City Council is asked to authorize the Mayor and City Administrator to execute the 1999 Animal Control Contract with Animal Control Services, Incorporated (Exhibit A). Background Attached to this memorandwn is the 1999 Animal Control Contract, as executed by Animal Control Services Incorporated (ACSI). ACSI has contracted with several communities: Little Canada; North Oaks; Shoreview; Vadnais Heights; and White Bear Township. The costs associated with this contract are the same for all participating communities. . The 1999 contract provides three hours of patrol per week (paragraph 11, A), which is consistent with the 1998 contract. The only modification to the contract is a clarification on the cost for call outs on weekendsJholidays at $65.00 each and the price per hour for patrol. Staffhas worked closely with ACSI to ensure compliance with this allocation in previous years. It is staff's intent to . continue to maintain tight fiscal control over the release of funds in this contract.
