<br />I <br />I <br />r <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />II <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />, <br />I <br /> <br />Karth Lake Inlet <br /> <br />Problem <br />Stilling basins were installed a few years ago in a ravine on the south end of the lake that enters <br />into Karth Lake, In many cases the stilling basins, constructed of rip rap, are beginning to silt-in <br />and are clogging the culvert outlets, A corrugated metal drop manhole at the end of this drainage <br />system is being washed out as a result of the last stilling basin running over and from runoff from <br />the nearby bituminous pathway. <br /> <br />Potential Mitigation Measures <br />* The stilling basins should be cleaned out to ensure that they are functioning properly and that <br />the outlets operate at the proper flow capacity, <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />Rip rap or vegetation to prevent additional scouring can be used to stabilize the slope around <br />the drop manhole, <br /> <br />* <br /> <br />Some reconstruction of the structures may be necessary as well, <br /> <br />Ingerson Road <br /> <br />Problem <br />Ingerson Road has a history of frequent flooding, Because the street is relatively flat and there is <br />no curb and gutter or ditches to direct the runoff, water has a tendency to pond in the street and <br />adjacent yards, <br /> <br />Potential Mitigation Measures <br />* Ingerson Road is in poor condition and is a priority candidate for street reconstruction, <br />Ingerson Road would be constructed with an urban pavement section, which would include <br />curb and gutter and storm sewer. <br /> <br />* Because Ingerson drains directly into Lake Josephine, a storm water retention pond should be <br />considered for any reconstruction project to improve runoff water quality and control runoff <br />flow rates into Lake Josephine, <br /> <br />The existing poor drainage condition of Ingerson Road will be factored into the priority ranking <br />system for reconstruction as a part ofthe comprehensive street condition review scheduled for <br />spring of 1999, The cost table does not include costs for mitigating the Ingerson Road condition <br />as it is assumed that the costs would be borne as a part of a street reconstruction project. <br /> <br />Summary Table 1.1 "Identified Drainage Issues" lists the drainage issues identified during the <br />field survey, This table describes the identified problem, its location, maintenance responsibility, <br />maintenance priority and an estimated maintenance cost. Table 1,1 also includes the drainage <br />issues identified above as well as the lesser problem areas around the City, <br /> <br />7 <br />
