Any domestic animal found in violation <br /> <br /> <br />of the pfovisions of this Chaptef may be seized and impounded by any police officer or any <br /> <br /> <br />animal control officer of the City; pfovided, however, that if the owner of the animal is <br /> <br /> <br />known Of can be ascertained from available information, it shall be feturned to its Ownef and <br /> <br /> <br />a citation fOf the violation shall be issued to the owner of the animal, unless otherwise <br /> <br />provided in this Chapter. <br /> <br />Subd. 2 Place of Impoundment. Impoundment may be in an animal shelter, within or <br /> <br /> <br />without the city, as the Council from time to time may designate by resolution as the "City <br /> <br /> <br />Pound. . <br /> <br />Subd. 3 Notice to Owner. The owner of any domestic animal impounded under the <br /> <br /> <br />provisions of this Subsection, if his or her identity and location can be obtained by reasonable <br /> <br />means, shall be notified within twenty-four (24) hours that his Of hef domestic animal has <br /> <br /> <br />been impounded. <br /> <br />Subd. 4 Redemption by Owner. Any domestic animal impounded pursuant to the pfovisions <br /> <br /> <br />of this Subsection may be redeemed from the pound by its owner within five (5) fegular <br /> <br /> <br />business days aftef the impoundment upon payment to the City Administratof of the <br /> <br /> <br />impoundment fee as is ffom time to time established by City Council fesolution, plus, in the . <br /> <br />4-7 <br />
