IOBRW 7199 <br /> <br />Related Experience <br /> <br />The BR W Team has prepared similar zoning ordinances and/or design <br />guidelines for other cities, These include regulations for "greenfield" <br />New Urbanist mixed-use sites, historic downtowns, and entire <br />communities. A few of these projects are described on the following <br />pages. <br /> <br />Not only are the members of the BR W team highly qualified to assist in <br />preparing the Civic Center Zoning Ordinance but the experience of the <br />BR W team as a whole is also very broad and deep in all the needed <br />subject areas. This is important because members of our team have <br />grown professionally by participating in or managing many of these <br />projects and because it indicates that there is great collective knowledge <br />in our firm upon which our team members can draw. <br /> <br />Our plans help our clients move toward a philosophy of environmental, <br />social and fiscal sustainabiliry. We have been introducing new ideas <br />about land use, transportation and urban design that move beyond the <br />expensive and consumptive patterns of the post-War era, Wise growth <br />in the next century, in our view, will make better use of past <br />investments, be more conservative of resources, and build <br />neighborhoods and communities that engender civic, social and personal <br />well-being. <br /> <br />We place a high value on public involvement and are experienced in <br />building consensus among interest groups. We recognize that there is <br />no single technique that works in all situations, and that no single <br />technique is ever enough to build the kind of understanding and support <br />that a plan will need to succeed. A successful plan must represent the <br />needs and desires of many diverse interest groups and stakeholders within <br />the community. The following principles guide us in designing the <br />public involvement process: <br /> <br />.
