He has written zoning ordinances for many communities <br />and prepared plans and public sector design guidelines for downtowns <br />and new mixed- or multi-use developments. Bill recendy completed <br />design guidelines that were the basis for new zoning overlay districts for <br />the City of Brooklyn Park. The subjects addressed included most of <br />those with which Arden Hills is concerned: housing, retail and service <br />businesses, offices and civic facilities. He has also written several sets of <br />design guidelines and/or zoning regulations related to transit-oriented <br />development, Mr. Weber will be the principal ordinance author and <br />liaison with the City staff. <br /> <br />Suzanne Rhees, AICP <br />Community Planner <br /> <br />Ms. Rhees has 15 years experience in city planning, and has prepared <br />several innovative zoning ordinances and/or design guidelines for <br />neighborhood commercial areas (such as Linden Hills in Minneapolis) <br />and historic downtowns (such as Wayzata). She understand "the hidden <br />meaning of zoning regulations" and is committed to advancing <br />pedestrian-oriented design and development. She would collaborate <br />with Mr. Weber on the ordinance. <br /> <br />David Showalter, AlA, AICP <br /> <br />Review Panelist <br /> <br />Mr. Showalter is an urban designer and a city planner who 25 years <br />experience with mixed-use design and transit station area design. As a <br />Review Panelist, he will comment on the draft ordinance. <br /> <br />BRW!
