Post, Interim City Administrator <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br /> <br />Resolution No. 99-37, Authorizing Application for Livable <br />Communities Demonstration Program <br /> <br />Backl!:round <br />The City of Arden Hills is a member of the North Metro I-35W Corridor Coalition. This sub- <br />regional association of seven (7) north metro cities has banded together to address transportation, <br />housing, and jobs issues that would be difficult to undertake individually and miss the inter- <br />relationships of the other communities, <br /> <br />Application to the Metropolitan Council <br />The Coalition Board has supported a $700,000 ($100,000 for each city) Livable Community <br />Demonstration Account Grant request to evaluate the impacts of the Coalition's 2020 buildout <br />scenario, and also to investigate transit opportunities within the Coalition through use of existing <br />railways. <br /> <br />Recommendation <br />The Arden Hills City Council is asked to approve Resolution No, 99-37 entitled, "Authorizing <br />Application for Livable Communities Demonstration Program" at the regular City Council <br />meeting of October 12,1999, <br />
