<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />D~(AFT <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />CITY OF ARDEN HILLS, MINNESOTA <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />OCTOBER 12, 1999 <br />7:30 P.M. - ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, Mayor Dennis Probst called to order the regular <br />City Council meeting at 7:31 p.m. <br /> <br />Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Dcnnis Probst, Councilmembers Beverly Aplikowski, Gregg <br />Larson, Paul Malone, and Lois Rem. <br /> <br />Absent: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />Also present were Interim City Administrator, Terrance Post; Public Works Director, <br />Dwayne Stafford; Parks and Recreation Director, Thomas.!. Moore; and City Engineer, <br />Greg Brown, BRW; and Recording Secretary, Lori Rolfson. <br /> <br />ADOPT AGENDA <br /> <br />Mayor Probst statcd that a revised agenda had been submitted for this evening's meeting to add <br />item number 3, Mayor's Update on City Administrator Search. <br /> <br />Mr. Post requested that item number 5, d, under the Consent Calendar, be added to the agenda <br />for the appointment of Mounds View High School student, Sam Scott, to the Water Quality Task <br />Force. <br /> <br />MOTION: <br /> <br />Councilmember Aplikowski moved and Councilmcmber Rem seconded a motion <br />to adopt the revised agenda for the Octobcr 12, 1999, regular City Council <br />meeting, as amended. The motion carried unanimously (5-0). <br /> <br />MAYOR'S UPDATE ON CITY ADMINISTRATOR SEARCH <br /> <br />Mayor Probst announced that Mr. .Ioe Lynch had been selected as the new City Administrator. <br />The offer was made to Mr. Lynch on Monday, October 11,1999 and Mr. Lynch has accepted the <br />offer. At this point, a start date for Mr. Lynch has not been determined, however, Mayor Probst <br />asked that Mr. Lynch begin as soon as possible. <br /> <br />Mayor Probst stated that Mr. Lynch had expressed in interest in a contract. Mayor Probst <br />informed Mr. Lynch that this will be acceptable, since Mr. Fritsingcr had also been hired under a <br />contract. Mayor Probst anticipated that the City would utilize this same contract format as a <br />model for Mr. Lynch's contract. He noted that Mr. Fritsinger's hire date had been January 29, <br />1995, however, the contract had not been signed until October, 1995. Mayor Probst had ensured <br />Mr. Lynch that this was not due to negotiation issues, rather it was the first time the City went <br />through this process. <br />
