We really don't want to change the landscape, jnst improve the
property.

WRITTEN STATEMENT:
We request a variance for the purpose of rebnilding our current garage at its present location.
Present day zoning laws reqnire the garage to be set back 40' from the road This was not necessary when
the present garage was built. There is a large and beautiful shade tree directly behind the corrent garage
which we would like to protect.
The current garage is 24' wide and 28' long. We would like to replace this with a new garage of
the same size with vinyl siding to match our home . The new building will be the same length as the current
garage, but will be built with regular trusses which are much lower than the current garage. The old garage
is actnally a converted barn and has a complete floor above the main garage level. Visually, the new
garage will be less obtrusive.
Also, we believe bnilding the new garage on the old site would be more aesthetically pleasing to
those visiting Hazelnut Parle. A stand of trees helps hide the large structure we have there now and moving
the garage further east would give every pad<: visitor a full view of our new, but not elaborately fancy,
garage. The locatiou of our lot is adjacent to Hazelnnt Parle and Prior Ave stops at our driveway.
Consequently, the garage will not took incongruent with the other houses on the street.
Our neighbors are pleased that we will be tearing down the old garage, as it is deteriorating rapidly
and is beyond repair. (The roof needed repair many years prior to our ownership of the property and there
is too nmch water damage to repair the structure.)
