Post/Arden Hills
Interim City Administrator

From: Gregory S, Brown
Arden Hills City Engineer

Date: November 4, 1999

Subject: Change Order #1
Arden Manor Park Improvements
McClung Drive Drainage Improvements

Background
The City of Arden Hills awarded Nadeau Utility, Inc, of Maple Grove, Minnesota the McClung
Drive Drainage Improvements and Arden Manor Park Improvements Project on September 13,
1999 for a total contract amount of $158,617.45

Purpose of Change Order #1
Change Order #1 includes additional work as described below:

By direction of City Staff and the City Engineer the Contractor was ordered to remove an
existing, corroded metal pipe and install 80 feet of 24 inch HDPE pipe with grated flared end
sections and a 12 foot Concrete Drop Manhole, The work was required to repair the existing
pond outlet upstream of McClung Ditch that had been severely undercut from erosion caused by
the corroded pipe, If left alone the bank would have eventually been undercut, potentially
resulting in flooding down stream, The work was performed on a time and materials basis. The
City Engineer has reviewed and concurs with the bill of $10,934.40 submitted by the
Contractor.

Recommendations
The Arden Hills City Engineer recommends the Council approve Change Order #1 thereby
increasing the contract amount by $10,934.40 from $158,617.45 to $169,551.85,

Cc: Mark LynchIBRW
Dwayne Stafford!
