<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />DRAFT <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />CITY OF ARDEN HILLS, MINNESOTA <br />SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING <br />DECEMBER 7,1999 <br />7:00 P.M. - CITY HALL COUNCIL CHAMBERS <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, Mayor Probst call to order the Special City <br />Council meeting at 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Dennis Probst; Councilmembers Beverly Aplikowski, Gregg <br />Larson and Lois Rem. <br /> <br />COUNCIL CANDIDATE INTERVIEWS <br /> <br />Mayor Probst stated that the purpose of the Special meeting was to interview the three potential <br />candidates to fulfill the term of former City Councilmember Paul Malone, until the expiration of <br />that term on December 31, 2000. <br /> <br />The City Council interviewed candidate Michael Coopet from 7:00 p.m. until 7:43 p.m. At this <br />time, City Council candidate David Grant arrived. The City Council interviewed Mr. Grant from <br />7:45 p.m. until 8:33 p.m. At this time, City Council candidate Patrick Krenn arrived. The City <br />Council interviewed Mr. Krenn from 8:35 p.m. until 9:15 p.m. <br /> <br />The City Council then considered and discussed all the candidates. It was the consensus of the <br />City Council to appoint Mr. David Grant, 1679 Chatham Avenue, to the City Council to fulfill <br />the term of former Councilmember Paul Malone, until expiration of this term on December 31, <br />2000. <br /> <br />The City Council notified staff to notify all candidates of their decision and thank them for their <br />interest and involvement in this process. They further directed staff to notify Mr. Grant that the <br />City Council would officially appoint him to the City Council at their December 13, 1999 regular <br />meeting, and to invite him to the City Council W orksession on December 20, 1999. <br /> <br />The City Council indicated that they would like Mr. Grant to assume office at the first regularly <br />scheduled meeting on January 3, 2000. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />The City Council adjourned the meeting at 9:55 p.m. <br /> <br />Dennis Probst <br />Mayor <br /> <br />Joseph P.
