A copy machine was purchased for Public Works in 1998, and this
will need to be replaced sometime in the future.

. JUSTIFICATION

.

Life cycle of copiers is 3-4 years.

CURRENTSTATUSIPROJECTEDSCHEDULE

Dependent upon construction of City Hall/Public Works facilities.

RELATIONSHIP TO EXISTING PLANS AND OTHER PROGRAMS

The copy machine industry is changing significantly due to technology. The City will need to evaluate
the use of a digital system tied directly to our computer system in an upgraded network in the new City
Hall facility.

The City will be evaluating leasing alternatives for copiers, which may affect the need to purchase
future equipment.

The City entered into a three-year capital lease agreement with Xerox, effective January 1, 1999, which
will expire on December 31, 2001. The leased equipment is a digital copier.
