Lynch, City Administrato~ <br /> <br />Probationary Appointment <br /> <br />FROM: <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br /> <br />Backt!:round <br />With the resignation of Associate Planner, Nancy Randall, a vacant position became <br />available in the Community Development Department. Staff advertised, evaluated and <br />initially interviewed five applicants for the position of Planner. Second interview <br />opportunities were offered to two final candidates, and a unanimous recommendation by <br />staff and Planning Commission Council Liaison Gregg Larson is hereby offered. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />After completion of the appropriate background, criminal and reference checks, staff has <br />offered the position to Ms. Jennifer Chaput. Ms. Chaput has accepted the position, and <br />following notice to her current employer, will be joining the City of Arden Hills on April <br />26, 2000. <br /> <br />Jennifer has been with the City of Long Lake for the last eighteen (18) months, serving as <br />their City Planner. Jennifer has a Masters Degree in Planning and an Undergraduate <br />Degree in Design. <br /> <br />Recommendation <br />Section 19-5 of Arden Hills Municipal Code states that the City Council shall make all <br />appointments to municipal service. As a result, the City Council is asked to make the <br />formal six (6) month probationary appointment of Ms. Chaput, effective April 26, 2000. <br /> <br />e <br />
