I want you to know that NSSA supports and encourages
Bethel College in this endeavor.

.

Based on NSSA's close workingrelationsmp with Bethel College, We on the Board of
directors have every reason to believe that Arden Hills youth served by NSSA will
. benefit from such field development. As you may know, soccer-playing surfaces are
now at such a premium that, according to the Minnesota Amateur Sports Commission,
participation will be curtailed statewide unless significant field development begins
immediately. NSSA has alIeady felt this pressllre and has been forced to notifY
approximately two h~mdr~ St. Paul area boys and girls that we have no room for them
on NSSA teams for this coming summer season.

Currently there are about 200 Arden Hills youth projected to be on NSSA teams this year.
The field at Cummings and Haz.elnut have served them well as younger players.
However, as they mature their soccer development really benefits from full sized fields.
It is my Imderstanding that the Bethel College proposed development will include just
what these kids need, a full sized field maintained to high standards..

All of \lS on NSSA's Board of Directors ask that you give every consideration to Bethel
College's proposal. We would love to have access to a full sized playing surface tbat
could serve Arden Hills' youth players as they progress in their soccer experience.

.

4;)ciL

Merlin Nelson.
