After discussion, <br />staff was directed to prepare an ordinance relative to this Code section. <br /> <br />Discussion <br />Staff has prepared Ordinance No. 318, "An Ordinance Relating to Charitable Gambling," <br />(enclosed). The proposed revised language of Section 4-43 more specifically defines compliance <br />with the trade area-spending requirement. In addition, City Attorney Filla has suggested adding <br />language specifying expenditures (generally real property or capital assets of the organization), <br />which are not included in the definition ofIawful expenditures. <br /> <br />City Attorney Filla will be present at the April 24, 2000 City Council meeting to answer any <br />questions the Council may have on this issue. <br /> <br />Recommendation <br />Staff recommends that the City Council approve Ordinance No. 318, "Relating to Charitable <br />Gambling," at the April 24, 2000 regular City Council meeting. <br />
