This machine has the capability of flushing/jetting out sewer mains with its' high <br />power jetting hose aJ1d at the same time vacuuming the sludge aJ1d debris out of the <br />manholes as it washes down from up stream. The machine has also proved valuable in <br />numerous other instaJ1ces, <br /> <br />tit <br /> <br />Storm Sewer Outlet Deltas <br />One of the features of the City's Vactor is the ability to suck up mud, debris aJ1d water, <br />yet hold the mud aJ1d debris iu its' tank while uuloading the water as it accumulates. This <br />is what the Public Works Department expects to do when removing saJ1d deltas building <br />up at maJ1Y storm sewer outlets where they empty into lakes, streams aJ1d ponds. <br /> <br />Reauest for Authorization ofUnbudl!eted Item <br />The above-described Vaetor came with only tweuty feet of flexible suction hose. This is <br />plenty when used with sewer c1eaJ1ing accessories. However, it will not reach most delta <br />areas we need to c1eaJ1. The Public Works Director asks for Council's authorization to <br />spend approximately $3,000 on additional suction hose aJ1d fittings for the City's Vactor <br />MaintenaJ1ce Machine. Those monies would corne equally from the City's Sewer Utility <br />Fund, aJ1d the Storm Water MaJ1agement Fund. <br /> <br />{\ <br /> <br />tit <br />
