<br />I <br /> <br />ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNC1L - June 26, 2000 <br /> <br />DRA"fJ <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />Councilmember Larson stated he thinks the plan proposal is a good idea, adding he hopes that <br />amenities in surrounding communities will be taken into consideration. <br /> <br />Councilmember Grant stated he thinks the plan makes good sense as it will establish a capital <br />improvement program to meet the City's parks needs from a strategic perspective. He added the <br />City's residents enjoy its rural feel. He expressed his support of the plan. <br /> <br />MOTION: <br /> <br />Councilmember Grant moved and Councilmember Rem seconded a motion to <br />approve funding of a Comprehensive Parks and Recreation Plan at a cost not to <br />exceed $60,000, and the cost be covered under the Community Services Fund. <br />The motion carried unanimously (5-0). <br /> <br />D. Resolution #00-24, Resolution Relating to a Minor Subdivision for the Arden Manor <br />Park Property <br /> <br />Mr. Post apologized for the unexpected appearance of the resolution as it was added to the <br />evening's agenda only lately. He stated that staffis attempting to get the deed for the Arden <br />Manor Park property recorded in the City's name prior to June 30, 2000, after which date the <br />City will be liable for property taxes for the first half of2000. <br /> <br />Mr. Post stated that staff requested that the easement property be deeded to the City in exchange <br />e for being excluded from special assessments for drainage improvements in the park. <br /> <br />Mr. Post stated that staff is recommending the Council's approval of Resolution #00-24, relating <br />to a minor subdivision for the Arden Manor Park property. <br /> <br />Councilmember Larson asked whether the property would be platted in the future. Mr. Post <br />stated he is unsure in terms of the ultimate resolution of the future of the property. <br /> <br />Councilmember Larson stated that if platting is normally required, the resolution as written <br />indicates that future platting will not be necessary. He suggested the resolution might be <br />changed to specifY or imply the eventual intention of the City to have the property platted. Mr. <br />Post agreed. <br /> <br />MOTION: <br /> <br />Councilmember Aplikowski moved and Councilmember Larson seconded a <br />motion to approve Resolution #00-24, relating to a minor subdivision for the <br />Arden Manor Park property, with the following amendment: <br /> <br />Under Item C, after "without the necessity of platting the property" insert "in <br />advance of recording of deed." <br /> <br />The motion carried unanimously (5-0). <br /> <br />e <br />
