Playground Street Signs installed at the following Parks; Perry, Hazelnut, Arden <br />Oaks, Ingerson and Royal Hills. <br />. Completion of Phase I of the Arden Manor Park improvement project. <br />. New Basketball court area at Freeway Park. <br />. Controlled bum of the Prairie Grass area at Crepeau Nature Preserve <br />. Outfield fence installed at Perry Park, Field #2. <br />. New field signage installed at Perry Park, Fields, #1, #2, #3, #4. <br />. Safety bases for baseball and softball installed at Perry Park, Hazelnut Park and <br />Cummings Park. <br />. Swing Set safety box installed at Arden Manor Park and Sampson Park. <br />. Swing Set safety pads installed at Cummings Park and Perry Park. <br />. Indoor water fountain installed at Perry Park. <br />. Friends of the Parks tree plantings at Sampson Park and Hazelnut Park. <br />. The Parks and Recreation Committee completed Park Tour II, with visits to the <br />following Parks; Arden Manor, Valentine Hills, Arden Oaks and Sampson. <br />. Hired three Summer Part-time workers. <br />. Completed an Evaluation and Performance Reviews on the following Parks and <br />Recreation employees; Fred Bell (24 years with the City), Dave Winkel (22 years <br />with the City), Scott Freyberger (2 years with the City) and Michelle Olson (one year <br />with the City). <br />. Adopt-a-Flower Garden program was held on May 20,2000. <br />. A Day in the Park was held on June 10, 2000. <br />. Adopt-a-Park program was established with 12 volunteers. <br /> <br />Reereation <br /> <br />. Offered a total of 50 classes for the Spring Session of which 5 were cancelled. This is <br />a 90% success rate. Last year's success rate was 70%. <br />. 802 people participated in the Spring Session programs. <br />. 42 Adult Softball teams are participating this year. This marks the first time in five <br />years that the numbers of teams participating has not declined. <br />
