VV\ . <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br /> <br />New Name for the Parks and Recreation Committee <br /> <br />Backl!round <br />At the June 27, 2000 Parks and Recreation Committee meeting, a discussion took place in <br />regards to changing the current name of the Parks and Recreation Committee. The <br />Committee would like to add the word 'Trails' to it's name. The new name would be; <br />Parks, Trails and Recreation Committee. <br /> <br />The Committee spends a significant amount ofit's time on trail related issues. Parks and <br />Recreation Committee meetings usually revolve around three areas of discussion; Parks, <br />Trails and Recreation. Trail related issues have reached a new level of importance and <br />thus should be emphasized. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />The committee voted unanimously to present this proposal to the City Council for <br />approval. <br /> <br />Recommendation <br />Staffrecommends that the City Council approve the renaming ofthe Parks and <br />Recreation Committee. The new name would be; Parks, Trails and Recreation <br />Committee. <br /> <br />e <br />
