<br />ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL - AUGUST 14,2000 <br /> <br />10 <br /> <br />Acting Mayor Larson stated that thc Ingerson Task Force was scheduled for the Council's . <br />August 28 mecting, adding the Hunters Park Tequcst might be discussed at a meeting with fewer <br />agenda items. Councilmembcr Rem stated the tenant's organization should be notified that the <br />item had becn held over, and when it would be discussed. <br /> <br />Councilmember Grant statcd he is aware that affordable housing in the aTea is extremely limited. <br />COlillcilmember Aplikowski stated that affordable subsidized housing is necessary. <br /> <br />ADMINISTRATOR COMMENTS <br /> <br />Mr. Lynch reminded the Council of the special meeting to be hcld August 15 at 8:00 p.m. in <br />Council chambers. <br /> <br />COUNCIL COMMENTS AND COMMITTEE/COUNCIL LIAISON REPORTS <br /> <br />Councilmembcr Grant stated that the Parks & Recreation Committee will meet on August 22. <br /> <br />Councilmcmber Grant stated that the AMM'S Metropolitan Agencies Committee met to discuss <br />affordable housing. He added their upcoming meeting is scheduled for Thursday August 17 at <br />which water quality will be discussed. <br /> <br />Councilmember Aplikowski stated, in her opinion, it is not the City's responsibility to advocate <br />on behalf of the Hunters Park residents. She added a petition might be made to the County or . <br />another party. <br /> <br />Councilmember Aplikowski noted that two Plarming Commissioners, Marty Rye and Brent <br />Nelson, will be leaving, and thankcd them on behalf of thc COlillcil for their hard work. <br /> <br />Councilmember Aplikowski stated that the Newsletter Committee did an exccllent job on the <br />water quality report. <br /> <br />CounciJmember Aplikowski statcd she will attend the N\1M meeting to be held August 15. <br /> <br />Councilmember Rem stated the National Night Out on August 1 was a succcss, adding that the <br />Fire Department visited the neighborhoods. <br /> <br />Councilmember Rem stated the RAE met on August 7 and reviewed rcmediation updates. <br /> <br />Councilmember Rem stated the Turtleman Triathlon was hcld recently in Shoreview, all <br />proceeds from which will go to the Northwest Youth and Family Services. <br /> <br />Councilmember Rem statcd that a County budget proposal to cut diversion funding would <br />greatly affect thc Northwcst Youth and Family Services. <br /> <br />Councilmember Rem stated she has had positive comments from residents with regard to the <br />watcr quality brochure and Parks & Recreation brochure. <br /> <br />. <br />
