<br />, <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />DATE: <br /> <br />August 30, 2000 <br /> <br />FRO",1: <br /> <br />Joe Lynch, City Administrator <br /> <br />Dwayne Stafford, Public Works Director 9=; <br /> <br />TO: <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Res. #00-27 Ordering a Revised Preliminary Feasibility Report for <br />the 2000/2001 Street Improvements <br /> <br />Backl!round <br />The Arden Hills City Council was provided information by the City Engineer and Staff <br />relating to a proposed street improvement proj ect for the year 2000 at its August 1999 <br />COlillcil Worksession. At their October 12, 1999, meeting, Council adopted Res. #99-35 <br />ordering a preliminary feasibility report for the proposed improvement. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />The City held an informational meeting on November 30, 1999, and held a public hearing <br />for the proposed street improvements on January 10, 2000. Both meetings werc attended <br />by nearly 100 people, most of whom seemed opposed to the proposed project as <br />presented. <br /> <br />Following testimonies from approximately 50 people at the January 10, 2000, public <br />hearing the City Council elected to postpone any action on the proposed Ingerson area <br />project until January 31, 2000. At the January 31, 2000, City Council meeting many <br />residents again were present and expressed their desire to hold up the project until all <br />options could be investigated. At that meeting, the City Council agreed to appoint a task <br />force to review the project issues. <br /> <br />At the Febmary 14, 2000, City Council meeting, Council officially named the task force <br />the "Ingerson Road Improvemcnt Review Group (Revicw Group)", and gave the group <br />the charge "To evaluate and make recommendations regarding the scope of a road <br />improvement project for the Ingerson neighborhood." The makeup of the Review Group <br />would include: <br /> <br />. Two City Staff members: Mr. Greg Brown, City Engineer, and Mr. Dwayne Stafford, <br />Public Works Director. <br />. Two City Council membcrs: Councilmembers Grcgg Larson and David Grant. <br />. Five residents of the Ingerson neighborhood. <br />. One representative from the Operations and Finance Committee and one <br />representative from the Planning Commission. <br /> <br />e <br />
