<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />DATE: <br /> <br />September 20, 2000 <br /> <br />TO: <br /> <br />Joe Lynch, City Administrator <br />Dwayne Stafford, Public Works Director ~ <br /> <br />Res. #00-33, Establishiug Rate for the Year 2001 Recycliug Program <br /> <br />FROM: <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br /> <br />Back!!round <br />The City has been involved with providing a curbside recycling service to all City households for <br />over ten (10) years, Funding for this service is achieved through assessments to individual <br />residential properties and monies returned to the City from Ramsey County in the form of a <br />SCORE grant. The County provides SCORE grants to eligible cities participating in the <br />Recycling program, <br /> <br />Through a Joint Powers Agreement (IP A), the County adds the City's cost for the recycling <br />service to the residents property tax bill, and returns the collected monies to the City, along with <br />the SCORE grant money of approximately $19,400, The City uses this money to pay for <br />recycling costs, <br /> <br />ReQuest <br />Ramsey County asks the participating cities in the IP A to provide the County with a resolution <br />establishing the Year 200 I rate for recycling services, <br /> <br />Year 2001Rate <br />The Public Works Director has reviewed costs for the recycling program, and contacted the <br />service provider for input on estimating cost increases for 2001, No increases are expected for <br />2001, which will result in the fee for each residential parcel remaining at $22,45 per year, <br /> <br />Recommendation <br />The Public Works Director recommends Council adopt Res, #00-33, which continues the rate of <br />$22,45 per year per residential parcel. <br />
