<br />/ <br />.' <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />tit <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />CITY OF ARDEN HILLS, MINNESOTA <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 6, 2000 <br />7:30 P.M. - ARDEN HILLS CITY HALL <br /> <br />DRAFT <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Acting Chair Brent Nelson called the meeting to order at 7:34 p.m. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br /> <br />Present were Commissioners Stephen Baker, Terri Duchenes, Therese Ga1atowitsch, <br />Brent Nelson, and Dave Sand. <br /> <br />Chair Steve Erickson was absent. <br /> <br />Also present were Councilmember Gregg Larson and City Planner Jennifer Chaput, and <br />Recording Secretary Mary Mullen. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES FROM PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING HELD ON <br />AUGUST 2. 2000 <br /> <br />Commissioner Sand moved, seconded by Commissioner Duchenes, to approve the <br />August 2, 2000 minutes. The motion carried unanimously (5-0). <br /> <br />PLANNING CASE #00-31- HOOD FLEXIBLE PACKAGING -1887 GATEWAY <br />BOULEVARD - PLANNED UNIT DEVELOPMENT AMENDMENT - PUBLIC <br />HEARING <br /> <br />Acting Chair Nelson opened the public hearing at 7:35 p.m. <br /> <br />Staff explained that the applicant is requesting to amend the Planned Unit Development for 1887 <br />Gateway Boulevard to allow the placement of a make-up air unit (-11' x 5 '9") and a chiller <br />condenser (-1' x 5'6") in front of one of the business' existing loading doors. <br /> <br />On July 14, 1997, the City Council approved Planning Case 97-06, PUD Master Plan and Final <br />Plan (including variances), preliminary and final plat, and street vacation for the construction of <br />three office/industrial buildings, currently addressed as 1787, 1887 and 1987 Gateway <br />Boulevard. <br /> <br />Hood Flexible Packaging came before the Planning Commission and City Council with Planning <br />Case 00-17a to request the exterior addition of two exterior solvent tanks, a catalytic oxidizer and <br />the expansion of one overhead door to accommodate these additions. This case was approved <br />with the following conditions: <br /> <br />1. <br />2. <br />3. <br /> <br />A minimum ofthree protective bollards be placed to protect the fence structure. <br />The dock door closest to the oxidizer not be used once the oxidizer is in place. <br />Solvent tank and oxidizer screening be cedar wood construction painted to match the <br />building. <br />
