. e MEETING MINUTES CITY COUNCIL WORKSESSION MONDAY, OCTOBER 16,2000 4:45 P.M. - CITY HALL, 4364 WEST ROUND LAKE ROAD CALL TO ORDER Acting Mayor Gregg Larson called the meeting to order at 4:47 p.m. Those present included Councilmembers Beverly Aplikowski and David Grant. Councilmcmber Rem arrived at 4:53 p.m. and Mayor Probst arrived at 4:56 p.m., at which time Acting Mayor Larson turned the gavel over to Mayor Probst. Staff present included City Administrator, Joe Lynch; Public Works Director, Dwayne Stafford; Parks and Recreation Director, Tom Moore; Planner, Jennifer Chaput; and Recording Secretary, Sheila Stowell. City Accountant, Terry Post arrived at approximately 6:15 p.m. OUARTERL Y WRITTEN DEPARTMENT REPORTS Councilmembers reviewed written quartcrly department reports with staff. DEREK HAMES. SHIKARI DESIGN. INC.. LOGO DESIGN e Derek Hamcs was present to present more finalized versions of the City's proposed new logo. It was the consensus of thc Council that the centered design was preferable. After Council discussion, Mr. Hames was directed to return with paper samples; with and without lines separating information by moving text to bottom; and newsletter and sign samples. Mr. Hames reminded Councilmembers of an upcoming meeting with the City Event Task Force, and stated he would like to know the preferred logo prior to that meeting. STAFF DISCUSSION ITEMS PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT Proposed Ordinance Amendment (Grease Traps) Mr. Stafford advised Councilmembers that recent televising of the City's sanitary sewer system has provided evidence of numerous grease clogs. Staff is recommending a proposed ordinance amendment requiring grease traps for city restaurants, to reduce maintenance. Staff would request Council action at a future regular Council meeting. e
