Y <br />Resolution to appoint data practices compliance officer <br /> <br />Ann Higgins <br /> <br />Minnesota Statutes Section 13.05, subd. 13 requires cities <br />to appoint a city employee to act as its data practices <br />compliance official. That employee shall receive questions <br />or concerns regarding problems in obtaining access to <br />public data or other data practices issues. <br />Recently the Dept. of Administntion prepared a <br />sample resolution for appointing a data practices compli- <br /> <br />ance official. This is part of the department's requirement <br />to provide model policies and training assistance to cities <br />when complying with the Government Data Practices Act <br />(GDPA). <br />Below is a sample resolution.
