CITY OF ARDEN HILLS MEMORANDUM DATE: October 26, 2000 SUBJECT: Mayor and City Councilmembers. ~ Joe Lynch, City Administrato~ Website Task Force TO: FROM: Background The City Council established and charged the Website Task Force with determining whether or not thc City of Arden Hills should establish a website and have a home page. Not a lot of other direction was given to the Website Task Force, and they pursued their own course. . At this time, the Website Task Force has come back to the City Council with some very specific recommendations, including the establishment of a website and a home page, but with some other very specific recommendations to determine the staff responsible, draft up policies that are needed with regard to establishment of and ongoing efforts of a website, and procedures and operations. At a City Council Worksession, the Website Task Force did come forward to discuss with the City Council their specific charge and their work progress to-date. Not a lot of other direction was given to the Website Task Foree, and really no conclusions were reached with regards to any other specific work effort. Staff Recommeudations Staffrecommends that the City Council accept the Website Task Force recommendation to establish a web site and home page and direct City staff to return with information on policies and procedurcs needed for establishing and continuing operation of a website and rules and responsibilities needed in keeping a presence. In addition, staffrecommends that thc City Council, at this time, thank the Website Task Force for their efforts, and disband by resolution the Task Force. cc: Terry Post, City Accountant Jennifer Chaput, Planner .
