<br />... <br />. <br /> <br />CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />DATE: <br /> <br />October 26, 2000 <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br /> <br />Mayor and City Councilmembers. ~ <br /> <br />Joe Lynch, City Administrato~ <br /> <br />Website Task Force <br /> <br />TO: <br /> <br />FROM: <br /> <br />Background <br />The City Council established and charged the Website Task Force with determining <br />whether or not thc City of Arden Hills should establish a website and have a home page. <br />Not a lot of other direction was given to the Website Task Force, and they pursued their <br />own course. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />At this time, the Website Task Force has come back to the City Council with some very <br />specific recommendations, including the establishment of a website and a home page, but <br />with some other very specific recommendations to determine the staff responsible, draft <br />up policies that are needed with regard to establishment of and ongoing efforts of a <br />website, and procedures and operations. <br /> <br />At a City Council Worksession, the Website Task Force did come forward to discuss with <br />the City Council their specific charge and their work progress to-date. Not a lot of other <br />direction was given to the Website Task Foree, and really no conclusions were reached <br />with regards to any other specific work effort. <br /> <br />Staff Recommeudations <br />Staffrecommends that the City Council accept the Website Task Force recommendation <br />to establish a web site and home page and direct City staff to return with information on <br />policies and procedurcs needed for establishing and continuing operation of a website and <br />rules and responsibilities needed in keeping a presence. <br /> <br />In addition, staffrecommends that thc City Council, at this time, thank the Website Task <br />Force for their efforts, and disband by resolution the Task Force. <br /> <br />cc: Terry Post, City Accountant <br />Jennifer Chaput, Planner <br /> <br />. <br />
