The City does not have a record of when this building was originally <br />built, bul given its strategic location relative to the main entrance at TCAAP, Staff would <br />s1l1T1lise that the its construction timed fairly closely with the arrival of 26,000 thirsty workers <br />across the street. <br /> <br />In 1968 (planning Case 68-46) the City requested the applicant obtain a special use permit for a <br />barber shop that was being operated, the owner ceased the use rather than obtain a special use <br />permit. In 1970 (planning Case 70-18) the owner received site plan approval for a building <br />addition. In 1972 (Planning Case 72-22) the owner received site plan approval for a building <br />addition. In 1976 (planning Case 76-16) the owner received a sign variance to allow for the <br />replacement of an existing sign that was seven feet higher than the sign code allowed. <br /> <br />The site is .75 acres in size and is cUlTently zoned B-2 (General Business) and has a <br />Comprehensive Plan designation of Commercial (Neighborhood Business is proposed).
