<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />-" <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />D,,,",, PI, rrT' <br />" )!8\~t~r <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />CITY OF ARDEN HILLS, MINNESOTA <br />TRUTH-IN-TAXATION PUBLIC HEARING - 2001 BUDGET <br />DECEMBER 4, 2000 <br />7:30 P.M. - ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, Mayor Dennis Probst called to order the Truth-In- <br />Taxation Public Hearing - 2001 Budget at 7:45 p.m. <br /> <br />Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Dennis Probst, Councilmembers Beverly Aplikowski; David Grant; Gregg <br />Larson; and Lois Rem. <br /> <br />Also Present: City Administrator, Joe Lynch; City Accountant, Terry Post; Planner, Jennifer <br />Chaput; and Public Works Director, Dwayne Stafford. <br /> <br />Three members of the public were in attendance. <br /> <br />ADOPT AGENDA <br /> <br />MOTION: <br /> <br />Councilmember Grant moved and Councilmember Aplikowski seconded a motion <br />to adopt the agenda for the December 4, 2000 Truth In Taxation public hearing as <br />submitted. TIle motion carried unanimously (5-0). <br /> <br />MAYOR - MEETING OVERVIEW AND PROCEDURES <br /> <br />Mayor Probst reviewed the purpose of the Truth in Taxation hearing, and briefly reviewed some <br />of the accomplishments of the City in the year 2000, including the City Hall construction start <br />and planning efforts for the City's Fiftieth Anniversary celebration in 2001. <br /> <br />City Accountant Post then summarized the information contained in sheets 1 - 11 contained in <br />the Truth in Taxation hearing packet available at the meeting. <br /> <br />Mayor Probst then opened the floor for questions from the City Council. <br /> <br />Councilmember Grant inquired what the revenue from "Fees and Fines" consisted of. Mr. Post <br />responded that the majority of the money is from code enforcement efforts and fines from motor <br />vehicle violations shared with Ramsey County and the Minnesota State Patrol, depending on the <br />typc of violation and division of law enforcement involved. <br />
